The Blessings of His Blood

For the most part, the word “blood,” isn’t one of the more fashionable words, or topics for that matter in starting up a conversation. It certainly wouldn’t make the Top 10 list for “water-cooler” gossip or debate at the workplace. Yet, for the Church, the body of believers would do wise to focus much on this single word. For within its symbolic meaning, it holds many of the fundamental doctrines of our faith.

As you read the following, I hope your thoughts will be renewed, your heart revived and your relationship with God restored…

Let us never forget, that the blood of our Lord Jesus is a mighty power:

Colossians 1:20: “And through him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross.”

By His blood, there is forgiveness of all sins and eternal life for all who will put their faith in Him: Colossians 1:13,14

By Christ’s blood, there is for us, continual cleansing from all our sins:

1 John 1:7: “… and the blood of Jesus, His Son, cleanses us from all sin.”

By the power of our Lord Jesus’ blood, Satan has been defeated: Revelation 12:10,11

By the efficacious and infinite power of His blood, even the most unworthy have liberty to enter into the Holy of Holies, to approach God’s thrown and to live before His glorious presence forever more:

Hebrews 10:19: “And so, dear brothers and sisters, we can boldly enter heaven’s Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus.”

My friends, I pray that we’d often give pause in the midst of our hectic schedules and ask our dear Lord, for His precious blood, which is life giving, sin destroying, perfect in power and unfathomable in peace, to be manifested in our hearts, minds and souls. That we would embrace the beauty of Christ’s blood and allow it to wash over us, day by day. Amen!
