In Whom Is Your Life Entrusted?

If you watch much television these days, you can hardly go a single day without seeing a commercial from an insurance company. From medical, dental, auto, life, and home insurances, the plethora of companies and coverage’s are continually marketed to viewers.

One of my favorite questions from these commercials is, “Are you in good hands?” The insurance giant, Allstate, has sure directed a lot of folks to give careful thought regarding their security and peace of mind for when the unexpected occurs. From financial security to material coverage, they’ve saturated the market place to direct people to consider, “Are you in good hands?”

I’d like to rephrase that question to, “Who has your back?” or better yet, “In whom is your life entrusted?”

When we boil it down, virtually all insurance companies derive their sales of insurances from a foundation of, “What will you do when the unexpected happens? “How will you protect yourself? “How will you pay for the cost of damages?”

These types of questions are certainly valid in our day and yet, there are millions of people in our nation, who’ve done little more than plan for the next few decades. They’ve yet to sit down and truly understand the brevity of life… to move beyond the temporal and reflect upon the eternal.

“In whom is your life entrusted?”

For persons outside of having a personal relationship with Christ, they might give an answer relating to a particular life insurance company, healthcare provider, caregiver or legal representative. All of which provide services for the temporal, the momentary…

In John chapter 8, we discover a plain truth Jesus told his listeners… People will either live in Christ Jesus or die in their sins (8:24). When we study this verse and draw upon the factual truth, we discover there’s no multiple choice or variable options to the question, “In whom is your life entrusted?”

In our society, which permeates being politically correct and non-offensive, we’d do well to stand firm, to be bold and challenge those around us by asking “In whom is your life entrusted?” The fact is, you’re either in Christ Jesus or you’re in your sins. Every single person living today will one day stand before the Lord Jesus Christ and they’ll have breathed their last here on earth having been in Him or in their sins. They will either be justified and found innocent or judged guilty. They will enter into eternity with the assurance of salvation or by the arrogance of their sin. Heaven or hell… no in between, no half-way destinations… In Christ Jesus or in your sins!

“In whom is your life entrusted?”

Romans 3:22, 5:1,9,11          “We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are… Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us… And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save is from God’s condemnation… So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends with God. Amen!
