Could a mere twenty words truly hold enough impact to become a prayer worth praying daily… even throughout the day? Let’s examine Psalm 86:11 and consider the depth of opportunity to pray God’s Word:
“Teach me your way, O LORD, that I may walk in your truth; unite my heart to fear your name.”
I want to encourage you to pause, close your eyes and take in a few deep breaths… and then read once again this most amazing prayer.
“Teach me your way, O LORD” – Let me begin this day, by asking you O LORD, instruct me and guide my heart and mind into full understanding of your Word and your ways!
“…that I may walk in your truth” – Father, as you lead me in your truth, step by step, may my ears be open to hear, my eyes unveiled to see and my heart eagerly ready to receive your truth. Not subjective truth or partial truth, but your whole truth O LORD! Keep my feet secure on your pathways and don’t let me stumble down the pathway of the world, nor follow in the footsteps of the wicked… Keep your way before me at all times, leading me continually to greater intimacy and deeper fellowship with you!
“…unite my heart to fear your name.” – O LORD, unite my heart to be one with yours. As you separate me from the world, knit my heart to yours Father. Let not my heart be divided, but become one with yours. Teach me Father, to have the upmost reverence for your Holy and precious name. May my every thought toward you be filled with awe and wonder!
Today my Father, “Teach me your way, O LORD, that I may walk in your truth; unite my heart to fear your name.” Amen!
