Salvation

God loves you and has a plan for you!

The Bible says, “God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, [Jesus Christ], that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3:16).

Jesus said, “I came that they may have life and have it abundantly” — a complete life full of purpose (John 10:10).
You were created to know God in a personal way—to have a relationship with Him, through His Son, Jesus Christ.
How do you start a relationship with God?

First, realize that you are a sinner.

No matter how good a life we try to live, we still fall miserably short of being a perfect person. That is because we are all sinners. The definition of  sin is “to miss the mark.” What is God’s mark? Jesus said, “Be perfect as My Father in heaven is perfect” (Matthew 5:48). Unless a person is perfect, he has missed the mark; therefore, he is a sinner. “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).

The result of sin is death, spiritual separation from God (Romans 6:23).

Believe in the great news!

Jesus Christ died on the cross for you, to pay for those sins!

The Bible tells us that “God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while were still sinners” (Romans 5:8).

This is The Good News (the Gospel), that God loves us so much that He sent His only Son to die in our place when we least deserved it (John 3:16-17).

But it didn’t end with His death on the cross. He rose again and still lives! “Christ died for our sins. … He was buried. … He was raised on the third day, according to the Scriptures.” (1 Corinthians 15:3-4).

Receive Jesus Christ into your life.

Becoming a Christian is not merely believing some creed or going to church. It is having Christ Himself take residence in your life and heart. Jesus said, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in . . .” (Rev. 3:20).

If you would like to have a relationship with Christ, simply pray a prayer something like this from the sincerity of your heart…

“Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins. Right now, I turn from my sins and open the door of my heart and life. I confess You as my personal Lord and Savior. Thank You for saving me. Amen.”
